Dr. Ali Movaghar, Head
Dr. Movaghar is the head of the International Affairs’ Office and oversees the planning and implementation of the university’s internationalisation strategy.
Ali Movaghar is a Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran and has been a faculty member of the university since 1994. He received his B.Sc degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tehran in 1977, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer, Information, and Control Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1979 and 1985, respectively. He visited the Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique in Paris, France and the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of California, Irvine in 1984 and 2011, respectively, worked at AT&T Information Systems in Naperville, IL in 1985-1986, and taught at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1987-1989. His research interests include performance/dependability modeling and formal verification of wireless networks, distributed real-time systems, and cyber-physical systems. He is currently a senior member of the IEEE and the ACM, an honorary member of the Academy of Sciences of Iran, chair of the Computer Engineering Committee of the Supreme Council of Development and Planning of Ministry of Science, Research and Technology in Iran, chair of the Scientific Committee for the National Scientific Olympiads in the field of computer science and engineering in Iran, as well as vice-chair of the governing board of Computer Society of Iran.
Dr. Farnaz Massoumian, Consultant
Farnaz is a consultant at the International Affairs’ Office (IA) and works on the strategic planning of the university’s internationalization program.
Dr. Massoumian joined Sharif in 2004 as a faculty member at the Department of Electrical Engineering and has recently taken the post of consultant. Prior to joining the IA team, she was the head of the International Students’ Office at Sharif University for two years, consultant at for the planning of the new university campus, and consultant for the National Elite Foundation. She graduated with a D. Phil in Engineering Science from University of Oxford and also holds an MEng degree (First class honours) from Oxford.
Ms. Tina Benmorad, Head of Strategy
Tina is working as the head of strategy for Europe, The United States and Oceania.She coordinates the visits, meetings and relations with all Universities and Cultural institutes cooperating with Sharif University of Technology. Tina joined Sharif in 2016. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry from AL Zahra University.
Mr. Alireza Kazemi, Head of Student Recruitment
Alireza is the Head of Student Recruitment at SUT’s International Affairs Office and aims to attract students from all over the world to attend the No. 1 ranked university in Iran. Joint degree programs and collaboration between universities help to improve the quality of education in every university and so increasing international relations with other universities is one of his top priorities. He is also in charge of updating the content of the English website of SUT (www.en.sharif.edu) and preparation of MoUs and other international documents. Alireza joined the office in 2016 and holds a master’s degree in philosophy of science, from SUT, and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Ms. Fariba Torabi, Administrator
Ms. Torabi is the head of administration at the International Affairs’ Office (IA) responsible for the day to day running of the office and managing the director’s affairs. She also assists in the coordination of visits. She joined in 2012 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in the English Language.
Mr. Morteza Maghsoudi, Administrator
Mr. Maghsoudi joined the office in 2011 as an administrator and is in charge of visa applications.
Mr. Amirhosein Bagheripour, Website Administrator
Amirhosein received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Sharif University of Technology. He specializes in social networking and content management, and he is the administrator of the International Affairs’ Office website (www.ia.sharif.edu).
