“Future Farming” Specialized Training Program for OIC Member States

According to the Public Relations Office of the Center for International Scientific Cooperation, the Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (COMSTECH), in collaboration with the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), is holding a comprehensive, two-week international training course titled the "Future Farming Training Program", aimed at strengthening scientific and operational capacity in the agricultural sector across OIC member and observer states.

Program Details & Schedule

  • Dates: October 19–30, 2026
  • Format: Hybrid (in-person and online)
  • In-person venue: Islamabad, Pakistan
  • Capacity:
    • In-person: 20 participants (10 from OIC member/observer states, 10 from the host country)
    • Online: Up to 1,000 participants

Key Objectives

Given the challenges facing the agricultural sector — including climate change, water scarcity, and the need to transition toward smart agriculture — the program focuses on the following areas:

  1. Developing and applying precision and digital agricultural technologies
  2. Building skills in plant biotechnology and smart systems
  3. Strengthening food security through sustainable and climate-smart agriculture approaches
  4. Improving post-harvest management and developing agricultural value chains
  5. Promoting innovation and entrepreneurship within the agricultural ecosystem

Applicant Eligibility Criteria

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (16 years of formal education) in agricultural sciences or related fields
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional or research experience
  • Age range: 20–40 years
  • Target audience: Agricultural specialists, progressive farmers, professionals in agro-processing industries and agribusiness, researchers, students, and young entrepreneurs (public and private sectors)
  • Women entrepreneurs and leaders in agriculture are especially encouraged to apply.

  • In-person scholarship (for selected participants from OIC member states): Full coverage of round-trip airfare, visa costs, accommodation, and meals throughout the program.
  • Certification: An official certificate of completion will be awarded upon successful completion of the curriculum and final evaluation.
